Feeding Sturgeon

Sturgeon have been carnivores throughout their lives, their larvae eats pelagic egret zooplankton. Whereas in young and adult fish it is derived from and encompasses a wider range of filter feeding and use of benthic, molluscs and insects, larvae and other benthic invertebrates, and in most fish the bulk of their diet form. Since most sturgeon have unique biological characteristics, their nutritional needs differ significantly from other carnivorous fish.

The amount of protein consumed depends on the energy supply needed. The best food is the food that makes up 40 to 65 percent of the total energy from the protein. The nutritional formula currently available in Iranian Sturgeon Breeding and Breeding Centers is based on various experiments with a conversion factor of 1 to 1.62.

Explanation that this food is in the form of dry pellets that are made to order by food manufacturers. Obviously, with further research it is possible to improve the quality of food and reduce the feed conversion ratio. Of course, in order to comply with environmental issues, even the nutrients used by baby fish feed concentrates have been approved by the Iranian Fisheries Organization. The wastewater will also be removed from the field following environmental filtration in accordance with environmental standards. As mentioned before, this kind of breeding has been done in the compact system and as much as possible in semi-compact and extensive systems.

Currently, these fish are reared in a dense system with a density of 15 kg / m2 in the country and if using aeration systems or continuous oxygen supply and … Increased densities up to 25 to 45 kg / m 2 There will also be. Despite high oxygen demand (6 to 8 mg / l), sturgeon are more resistant than other fish with similar oxygen requirements, and fortunately, many diseases, unlike cold species, have not been reported.

The nutrient composition of sturgeon of different ages is as follows:
